From Plight to Flight… Through the first ever ICATS Scholarship Program
Secure a brighter future in the airline hospitality industry through unparalleled learning opportunities set forth by the International Cabin Attendant Training School (ICATS), as Asia’s premier academic and training school for flight attendants invites applicants for its first ever Scholarship Program—the first and only study grant of its kind in the Philippines.
ICATS, a widely recognized institution that takes pride in promoting higher education and world-class flight attendant (FA) training now opens new skies for low-income but goal-driven young Filipino men and women who wish to pursue their dreams in the airline service industry. ICATS Scholarship Program provides qualified aspirants free access to a 30-day intensive training opportunities that will give them the competitive edge in their flight attendant careers.
“ICATS is very pleased to spearhead this significant initiative as part of its corporate social responsibility campaign. By awarding scholarship grants to those who we feel deserve such an opportunity, individuals who are once hindered from pursuing their dreams by their financial situations are now finally given equal chance to a brighter future and a meaningful flight attendant career,” said Princess Joy Garcia, CEO of ICATS.
According to Garcia, while the ICATS Scholarship Program is primarily geared at finding and cultivating talented young people, the study grant goes far and beyond as it aims to impart FA scholars the valuable role of determination, discipline and education in enhancing their abilities, as well as in uplifting their prospects and opportunities for a better life.
“As we continuously build a world-class flight attendant program, we want our first batch of ICATS scholars to be the face of modern leadership and professionalism in the global flight service industry. To do so, we want to help the most promising people and equip them with the right set of values and core competencies required of them as they grasp the value of the scholarship opportunity,” she added.
Established in 2009, ICATS has progressed into becoming one of the country’s top flight attendant schools -- providing the hospitality airline industry with highly-trained graduates who now hold successful careers in both local and international commercial airlines such as Philippine Airlines, Cebu Pacific, Emirates, Qatar Airways, Oman Air, Fly Nas, Saudi Arabian Airlines, Air Asia and Cathay Pacific.
With a curriculum based on standards set by international flight attendant schools, ICATS' competitive courses include a five-module training with key subjects on personality development, aircraft familiarization, emergency situations and procedures, on-board service and interview essentials. Add to these the rigorous hands-on training by qualified and competent instructors – all equipped with years of experience flying with major and prominent international airlines.
Apart from a modern curriculum and 30-day intensive course, ICATS also assists graduates in their transition from flight school students to professional airline personnel via a job assistance program.
